Wellington Amateur Radio Club has long been strong in HF activity, with many members involved in the internationally respected Quartz Hill User Group, which operated from Makara, near Wellington. Using the callsign ZL6QH, the station had access to a collection of long wire antennas and operated on bands from VLF to 6m bands.
We are still active as a branch in the annual Jock White Field Day contest, and when operators are available in other contests such as the Oceania DX Contest and CQ WW Contest.
